About The Muay Thai Youth Foundation (MTYF)

The Muay Thai Youth Foundation was spearheaded in Phuket, Thailand with a primary focus on preserving the culture of Muay Thai by supporting the Youth and their development in the sport.

The foundation of Muay Thai begins with the youth, and its’ rich history and legacy rests on the shoulders on these young boys and girls.

Muay Thai in Thailand can be an escape for many children growing up in impoverished living conditions, and prior to the pandemic these children relied on various local promotions to provide additional support for their families by participating in competition.

Due to the absence of tourists in Thailand, all Muay Thai promotions now cease to exist and the Muay Thai youth are left with minimal sponsorships to be able to continue the sport they love.

Our Mission & Goal

The MTYFs mission is to promote awareness of the current situation that the youth of Muay Thai are facing in Thailand, and our goal is to raise enough awareness and funding for their education, clothing, food, housing and training.

Our team of volunteers will be responsible to personally parent and guide a young Muay Thai trainee. This will guarantee they are attending school, achieving high grades, developing on their English skills, focusing on a proper diet and most importantly communicating & listening to the children, to be sure they still have a passion for Muay Thai.

The main focus of the MTYF is to guide the youth during their childhood and help them achieve their dreams. Not all trainees keep the same passion for Muay Thai as they begin to develop into their teens, and by recognizing this tendency, we can guide them towards their newly desired passions.

Typically in Thai culture the occupational status of a teacher, doctor, nurse or police officer is highly regarded, and we have seen numerous children move towards these professions. Muay Thai is not all about elbows and kicks, in fact, it is the foundation for the youth of Thailand to learn crucial life lessons and develop a strong character by understanding the importance of self-discipline, focus, determination, patience, perseverance, loyalty and team-work.
