A fundraiser for Khun Sek's rehabilitation

Hi, I'm Natalie from  "The Clean Team", and we'd like to raise funds for our staff member, Montree (Sek), who was badly injured in a motorbike accident on Koh Samui (29th June 2021) whilst trying to rescue a cat and her 3 kittens. 

Sek was tending a garden for a client when the Villa Manager requested he remove the cat and her kittens from their site. Sek, being an a animal lover, phoned his girlfriend in order to prepare their home so they could care for them.

Whilst Khun Sek was riding home, with mum and her kittens onboard, he collided head-on with another motorbike, who's driver was on his phone and did not see Sek. Sek sustained serious injuries to the right side of his body and his lower leg got caught between both motorbikes.

Since then, Sek has undergone multiple operations in order to save his leg, unfortunately though, the Doctors had to amputate just below the knee. He damaged his right arm and is unable to straighten it, the doctors are unable to operate as the bone that was damaged is too small to pin together.  The arm will require extensive physiotherapy over the next 2-3 years in order to gain around 80% functionality. 

He then had surgery on Wednesday 28th July to fix a broken jaw and have his tongue fully stitched up. Although being in hospital for a little over a month now and losing his lower leg, Sek's outlook on life remains very positive and he longs for the day he can see his family, friends, and return to work.

During Covid-19, Sek became the sole family breadwinner so, we'd love to raise some funds for his prosthetic leg and ongoing physiotherapy so may return to some normality. Sek is an incredibly positive and hard working person, and your donation, no matter how large or small, can help his recovery and most importantly, maintain the positivity he'll need on this journey!

Compassion to help a cat and her 3 kittens COSTS a LEG!!

Being an animal lover all Khun Sek really wanted to do on 29 June 2021 was rescue a cat and her 3 kittens.  Little did he know that this decision would have lifelong consequences.  

Whilst removing the cat and babies from a villa and driving his motorcycle to take them to his own home, he was involved in a very serious accident.

It cost him his right leg, severely damaged right arm, loss of feeling to the tips of some of his fingers and also the loss of taste (due to the very complex surgery to his mouth and his tongue). 

There are so many things he has overcome, things that initially looked like a mountain to him, while lying in hospital for over a month.  

There is still a long road to recovery, but we know he will continue to fight this fight with all that he has.  He still sees the physiotherapist and psychologist for his rehabilitation process.

Khun Sek firmly believes that he will win this fight. He is looking forward to the day when he is able to return to work. But he needs help to get a mechanical leg, so he can earn money the rest of his life.

Khun Sek is very humble and will be very thankful for every support. 

Hi everyone, just a quick update on Khun Sek... great news is he has been discharged from hospital and is continuing his recovery at home!! He unfortunately has had to have two further surgeries on his jaw and tongue which were successful in their own way, however he has lost most of his sense of taste due to the doctors having to cut away a section to repair the tongue, the good news is he can finally eat soft food!! Since being home he has been working hard on his recovery and managed a trip to Makro with his girlfriend where he declined the wheelchair and instead used his crutches to get around, how brave is this man!! He still has daily physiotherapy for his arm and leg and we see great improvement. He also now calls himself "The Clean Team Engineer" as he currently sits at home and fixes all the machines that give problems
