About the GIA Alumni Collective Thailand Chapter & Our Ongoing Commitment

The GIA Alumni Collective Thailand Chapter is part of a global network of graduates from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA)—the world’s foremost authority in gemology and jewelry education. Established in 2025 as the 58th chapter worldwide, we are a growing community of professionals united by a shared passion for gemstones and a dedication to positive impact both within and beyond our industry.

“Beneath the Sparkle” marks the beginning of our chapter’s ongoing humanitarian outreach—an initiative that current and future chapter leaders will carry forward. The name reflects a deeper truth: that the real brilliance of our community lies not only in the gems we work with, but in the compassion, empathy, and solidarity we offer beneath the surface.
It is our collective promise to act with purpose, heart, and humanity—extending care where it’s needed most.

For our first campaign under Beneath the Sparkle, we are proud to collaborate with the Bangkok Community Help Foundation, a trusted and experienced grassroots organization. Together, we are working to bring direct, non-monetary relief to those affected by the March 28 earthquake in Myanmar.

In Solidarity with Myanmar: A Call from GIA Thailand Alumni
Following the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28, the Thailand Chapter of the GIA Alumni Collective is joining hands with the Bangkok Community Help Foundation to raise awareness and deliver urgent relief. As gemologists, many of us have long admired the beauty of Burmese gemstones—treasures born of the land now in crisis. Today, we stand not just as professionals, but as neighbors and fellow human beings, committed to supporting those whose lives have been upended.

We invite our fellow alumni, industry peers, and the broader community to contribute essential supplies, offer time and skills, and support this vital humanitarian effort. Together, we can help restore hope and dignity where it’s needed most.

Our Goal: 580 Emergency Meal Kits for Mandalay

To honor our place as the 58th GIA Alumni Chapter, we’ve set an ambitious but achievable goal: to provide 580 Emergency Meal Kits for earthquake-affected families in Myanmar. These kits will be sourced and distributed locally in Mandalay by the Bangkok Community Help team, ensuring swift and efficient delivery.

What’s in a Meal Kit?

Each kit feeds 4 people for 3.5 days and costs just 200 THB.

Contents:
• Rice – 1.8 kg (50 THB)
• Onion – 1.6 kg (22 THB)
• Cooking Oil – 1 liter (80 THB)
• Salt (5 THB)
• Potatoes, Cabbage, and Dried Chili Flakes (43 THB)

These simple but life-sustaining kits provide nourishment, stability, and a symbol of care to those in immediate need.
