I am a highschool student and Comp4Class is a small project that I run. The objective of the project is to improve the quality of education in local schools in the rural areas of Thailand.

A portion of the money earned from this fundraising will be used to fund computer repairs and installations, so that unused computers can be put to good use by fully utilizing them in the education of youths. The remaining portion will be used to purchase new classroom furnitures and necessary school equipment to fulfill the school’s request.

In my first trip, I aim to visit several schools in Amnat Charoen, Northeastern Thailand to donate the computers myself and ensure that they are properly installed and ready for use. โรงเรียนบ้านโนนค้อทุ่ง/Ban Non Kho Thung School is one of the schools I aim to help. Since there are only 4 computers at the school, each computer must be shared among 3 students. The school also requested new desks and chairs for teachers and students to replace the ones they had since the opening of the school. (Each desk costs around 3500 baht).

As you may be aware, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 goals established by the United Nations. By helping out in this project, we could easily tackle the 4th SDG (Quality Education) and the 12th SDG (Responsible Consumption and Production) simultaneously, making a contribution towards the global aim to “achieve a better and more sustainable future”.

There are many more schools across Thailand that have limited access to technology and sufficient classroom equipment for effective learning. After a successful first trip, I hope to extend this project further to support schools in other areas of Thailand as well. All in all, I believe that this project is a small contribution to improve the quality of education and benefit Thai communities as a whole.
