The Story

Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle &……. EDUCATE!

The aim of the recycle bank project is to

raise awareness on the environment

increase recycling

stimulate children to save and reuse

In Thailand garbage is a huge problem, like anywhere else. In the countryside there is no garbage pickup and most people burn their waste.. But at our Community Learning Center in the mountains of Paksong, close to Ranong, we can recycle almost everything and we teach children how to do this and the importance of it!

There is more than a million square kilometer of plastic floating in our oceans now. It kills many animals and harms our eco system. In everything we eat we can find plastic residue and it is very harmful to our health! This needs to change! That is why we have the Recycle Bank, where each kids has a real account and bankbook.

With the recycle bank we educate te children to:

Collect garbage , clean and pack it

Bring it to TCDF

Give it to the TCDF staff to weigh

The TCDF Staffmember fills in their Recycle bankbook in which they can save for educational toys.

Take their bag back home to reuse and say NO to plastic bags!

52.000 Baht is needed to keep the educational program open for 52 weeks, one full year!

You can also support us by visiting our forest school, we organize schoolcamps & educational family holidays.
