My name is Tom Richards, and until a few months ago I’d never set foot in a boxing ring.
Now, after three months of early mornings, aching muscles, and pushing through more self-doubt than I care to admit, I will be stepping through the ropes at Phuket White Collar Boxing in front of 400 people.
I’m doing it to challenge myself in a way I never have before — to get completely comfortable being uncomfortable. But more importantly, I’m doing it for something far bigger than me.
I’m raising money for Phuket Children’s First Fund, supporting vulnerable and orphaned children here in Phuket. As a teacher, this cause is incredibly close to my heart. Every child deserves safety, opportunity, and the chance to build a brighter future.
Our goal is to raise enough to fund a brand-new mobile library that will travel to all seven orphanages in Phuket — bringing books, learning opportunities, and a little extra inspiration to the children who need it most.
If I’m going to take punches in the ring, they should be for something that truly matters.
Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference. And I’m hoping this is just the beginning of my involvement with the charity — long after the final bell rings on 9th May.
Thank you so much for your support. It genuinely means the world.
Tom
