'If you've been following my journey, you will know that I've spent the last two plus years, since October 2023, really trying to turn my life around.
I've been incredibly lucky, with an incredible support network of family, friends and peers, who have championed my transition from, surely dying to living - not dying in that period. In 2025 January I ran my first half marathon at the Khao Yai Marathon, where my main goal was to turn up and finish the race. It's wasn't my first time to Khao Yai (Nakhon Ratchisima Province - formerly Korat) and it certainly wouldn't be my last, as I ran also in the Korat Marathon (half) as well as in Nakhom Phanom, which helped me reach a total of 9 half marathons in 2025 - the last one being in Chanthaburi on the 14th of December.
There is something about running for me, and running to live, but I need something more than this.
In January 2026 I would like to run for someone else, for those who have been less fortunate than myself, and who stem from the Isaan region of Thailand, known for its stunning landscapes, incredible scenery, and sadly, some of the lowest education levels in Thailand.
I believe education is critically important, to bring children born into rural and less desirable circumstances - out of these situations, and give them the opportunity of a more prosperous future and break the cycle, to give them a fighting chance.
I reached out to Fund-Isaan, a not for profit organisation in Isaan, active for twenty years, with a simple mission - 'A FUTURE FOR EVERY CHILD'.
Originally I had wanted to run again in Khao Yai and better my time from January 2025. However on November 10, I wrote to the organisers of the Khao Yai Marathon, withdrew my application and instead applied for the full marathon participation. It's time level up, people who can not do it for themselves.
There are three areas that Fund-Isaan focuses on, and I would like to hone in on one specifically, which are non-repayable scholarships for students.
Fund Isaan has an incredible track-record. Over 98% of the students in the program achieve their educational target and graduate.
Now this is my personal pledge to Fund-Isaan, and I'm doing this alone, to donate to them. My dream is to raise enough money to pay for two-students, for the entirety of their education.
A scholarship for one year of university as per the fund is (thai baht) THB 12,000 per year, so THB, 48,000 for the degree.
I need your help, to make this happen, and help me raise these funds, any amount is greatly appreciated. The amount is quite small for a degree in other countries, but can really help these students have the best opportunity at life as an adult, with the skills and capabilities to earn a proper living.
THB 48,000 is (as at today)
$2,295 Australian Dollars
$1,523 US Dollars
GBP 1,139 Pounds
EU 1,296
$1,966 Singapore Dollars
AED 5,594 dirhams
I wish to run this race to support two children, however if I can support three, that would be amazing.
I have logo sponsorship available at a price of THB 5K small logos, or THB 10K for bigger logos if you work for a company that would be willing to support. The Fund Isaan Logo will be visable on my chest, and remaining areas will be back and sleeve branding opportunities.
A future for every child.
Please donate, I know why I've been running, and who I've been running for, now, I'm running with a new purpose - to help and educate and provide a future for others.
