Somtum Squad is Back! 

In 2023, we set out to create an annual charity football tradition—bringing together top influencers and Thai celebrities for a match that’s all about fun, community, and giving back. Unfortunately, last year, we couldn’t make it happen, but this year, we’re making up for it in style!

On February 19th, the charity match is ON! The Super Influencer Team will take on the Thai Celeb Team in what promises to be an unforgettable game. And before the big day, it’s time to introduce our squad!

Everyone has rallied behind the name Somtum Squad—a team as spicy and exciting as the dish itself. But this isn’t just about football—we’re playing for a purpose!

This year, we’re raising funds to support students in rural schools, specifically Ban Wang Mee School and Ban Tha Wang Sai School in Wang Mee, Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima. These schools lack essential resources, and our donations will help provide equipment and opportunities to support their dreams. With your help, we might even take things further and make an even bigger impact!

We invite you to be a part of supporting Ban Wang Mee School and Ban Tha Wang Sai School, which are currently facing significant challenges and urgently need assistance. All donations will be used to improve the learning environment, including the construction of new bathrooms to accommodate 119 students and 13 teachers, who are currently using only 4 bathrooms—far too few for the number of people relying on them.

Additionally, the playground equipment at Ban Tha Wang Sai School is old and damaged, with swings that are no longer functional. Your donation will help provide the children with better learning and play experiences, improving their quality of life in this community.

As part of this effort, there will be a special charity competition featuring Thai celebrity "Kem Hasawit" and popular international influencers who love Thailand, led by Gary The Roaming Cook and Paddy Doyle, to raise awareness and engage people from all over the world in this cause.

It really hits home when you see how much these children need help, especially when it comes to their basic facilities. The situation is far worse than I initially realized. Even something as simple as the playground swings is beyond repair—old, broken, and just not safe to use anymore. When I spoke to the kids, they told me how much they wish someone would come to fix them so they could have a safe place to play, something they can enjoy and look forward to. It’s heartbreaking to hear them express this because these are things that should be accessible to every child. The lack of proper facilities—whether it's the broken playground equipment or the inadequate bathrooms—makes me feel deeply for them. These children deserve so much more, and it’s painful to see how basic needs aren’t being met.

When you see kids who just want a safe, clean place to play and learn, it makes you realize how crucial it is for us to step in and help. It’s not just about providing them with physical spaces but also giving them the dignity, joy, and care they need to grow and thrive. We have the chance to make a difference in their lives—something that will resonate long after we’ve repaired the swings or built the new bathrooms. Your support could change everything for them.
