The Story

I am raising funds to ensure that my good friend's husband can have life-saving brain surgery. 

My dear friend Tip, from Thailand, and George, from the Philippines, have been together 15 years and have three beautiful young boys, 3, 5, and 7 years old. A sincere and God-loving couple they have worked in Koh Samui for many years, George as a musician in several of the hotels and wedding venues on Koh Samui, and Tip as an integral part of Greenacre International School.  

Due to the pandemic, George lost his employment in the hotels as the tourist industry was hit hard. 

Shockingly and suddenly, after three weeks of intense headaches,  George has been diagnosed with brain cancer and now URGENTLY needs life-saving surgery. Without it, he is highly likely to die.  

No one wants to lose their partner and father to their children. My friend Tip is utterly devastated and so friends and I are rallying around to help save his life by raising the money needed to pay for his operation.  She has been a great support to me personally through good times and bad. So now I feel it's time to pass forward the kindness. 

George has paid into the Thai Social Security system for 17 years and would have been covered for this surgery, however because of COVID 19 his employment ceased last summer and the insurance is now no longer valid. Therefore the distraught family needs to raise the money themselves. 

Time is of the essence. Tip and family members have rallied and they have scraped together half the money needed. There is still 160,000THB ($5000USD) outstanding needed to ensure that George has a fighting chance to see his children grow up to become adults. 

The thought that my friend's children could potentially grow up without their father when surgery might ensure he is given a chance at life, fills me with immense sadness.
