The Story

Hello, I'm Nathan, one of the owners of Ronnie Kangaroo Bar in Patong Thailand.

On March 19 the Government of Thailand forced all bars and entertainment venues to close until April 1st, however with the worsening COVID-19 infection numbers this closure may be longer.  Bar owners are struggling to survive all over Thailand and we are no exception.

After we are allowed to open again, the next challenge we face is that there is no tourism in Thailand right now.  Thailand, along with many other countries have closed their borders and this means no tourism in Thailand for an unknown amount of time. Worse still is that there is no economic stimulus or subsidies available to assist us during and after this closure.

I am swallowing my pride and putting my hand up to ask for your help.  We urgently need operational funds to keep from closing the doors forever.  This is important for us because we have a number of staff who rely on us to survive and this is a responsibility we take very seriously.  These staff have children and families to support and I have had many sleepless nights worrying about how we can support them.

What will we do with your donation?

Your donation will allow us to pay our staff, rent and monthly expenses to keep operating until tourism returns to Thailand.

Your donation will be greatly appreciated and each donation recieved will receive my personal heartfelt thanks for helping us in this difficult time. I'll even buy you a drink if you decide to visit the bar.

Now is the time for everybody to help each other.  When this crisis ends we are all going to party.

Thank you.
