The Bangkok Community Help Foundation (BCHF) is a remarkable organization dedicated to supporting and uplifting the less fortunate in society. Throughout the challenging times of COVID-19 and beyond, BCHF has played a pivotal role in improving the lives of over 2,000,000 individuals. With an incredible team of 700 volunteers working tirelessly seven days a week, the foundation provides vital assistance in various forms. They offer immediate relief through essential aid like food and first aid, while also focusing on long-term solutions such as education, community development, job placement, and more. Thanks to your support in three days we handed out 1806 relief survivor bags to Flats 11 to 18. This was day 3.

The three days was a total of 9,030 kilos of rice, 7,224 cans of fish, 10,836 packages of Chicken soup, 6,000 bottles of cooking oil, 6,000 bottles of fish sauce, 6,000 cheese sticks, 6,000 bottles of shampoo, 6,000 bars of soap, 6,000 alcohol gel and 12,000 face masks.

We were joined by Tim Newton from The Thaiger. who will be doing a segment on the continued support that is needed.

Wading through the floods and the rain, Bangkok Community Help Foundation volunteers visited a orphanage https://www.facebook.com/ffcthailand/
located in Nakhon Pathom on Sunday which takes care of 100 kids.

Ironically it’s the same orphanage that we hope that will accept three more kids from the street that our volunteers found last week.

We brought 100 kilos of rice, 300 cans of fish, 100 bottles of shampoo, 200 packs of laundry detergent, 20 boxes of powdered milk, 10 boxes of UHT milk, 20 packs of diapers and lots of toys. ❤️❤️

Today we were back in the “ Forgotten community “ of Klong Toey, helping all 70 houses. August 19th, every single house had a covid case, 100% infection rate with 3 dead out of the 200 residents. Today it’s 0% infected.

Now the Bangkok Community Help Foundation, a charity, has launched a mass testing drive to try to identify cases and help stop Klong Toey from becoming a reservoir that reinfects the whole city

20 homes in quarantined with covid and most of the homes have zero income now except the garbage they can recycle and possibly make 100 baht a day. Your help is important.

Last tank of oxygen. Sent home from the hospital as the doctors couldn't do anymore. Covid had damaged her lungs. The family requested a tank of oxygen from us at BCH so Grandma would pass peacefully. Even with the oxygen, the oxygen level was 70. RIP.

Khun Naowarat is 75 years old. Her oxygen level had gone to 84

She got her RTPCR test on August 5th and registered that day with 1330. Ten days later still no medicine arrived or a bed. Nothing. Thank you to both K Nui and K Jayna for hearing her plea for help and not giving up on this patient and trying every possible way to help get her a hospital bed. They both are fighters and praying Khun Naowarat is as well. Su Su ❤️

Many people in the slums can’t afford a ATK test. Thanks to your 250.- donation, we can test many in the community. Thank you. We plan to go community by community. Testing house by house and isolate if the test is positive. Only way to help control the spread of Covid in the slums.

On lock down from June 27th to July 26. The company provided one meal a day for two weeks. Since July 11th, they had to get it themselves.

They went back to work July 27 but won't get paid till August 23rd. Last paycheck was July 4th. 50 days with no income. They said the timing of us helping today was epic as most of them had used up their savings to buy food.

Thanks to you, Bangkok Community Help Foundation handed out 250 care packages to households in 70 Rai, which is part of Klong Toey. Even though many of the community members lost their incomes, as small as they were, and many even caught Covid, we were welcomed with cordiality and gratefulness, as it‘s the case most of the times. The team sweat under the PPE jumpsuits, but what can you do in times of Covid Delta?

All is good some finishing touches like small storage for each bed, fans and blankets set up. We however have one big issue, windy rain like Wednesday night. All the engineers out there. Let’s hear your ideas how to install a Oxford cloth tent fabric to keep the rain out and who can install ?

Across from Benjakitti Park, when you look across the lake, it's so beautiful with all the skyscrapers. One community you don't see as it's not tall and hidden behind a gate has 120 homes. Thanks to you, we were able to give them a helping hand to all 120 families. ❤️ They were very grateful as it's been the first time they have been helped

Unfortunately, covid has visited this community. 35+ out of the 120 homes have covid. Why you see me wearing protective glasses on this day.

Miracles happen for all of us who believe ❤ Only a week ago we raced through Bangkok trying to find this woman's apartment. Pregnant and Covid positive with low Oxygen saturation levels. A very dangerous situation. Now this little one is born safely into this world. The reason why we keep going ❤

Back on April 29th, Bangkok Community Help Foundation was asked if perhaps we could provide 1000 meals a day to the communities of Klong Toey. This was a huge jump as before the maximum was 500 meals on a Sunday. We closed our eyes and said yes for 30 days. Wondering at the same time, how we would ever do it. Now look at what you have done, Thanks to you, we not only did that, we strived for feeding more and more so now it's over 3,000 meals a day!

We're very proud to announce we've build and opened this Community Isolation Center on Sukhumvit 71 housing 20 people at a time to quarantine themselves away from home. Giving people the opportunity and space to immediately isolate themselves from their families once tested positive is our latest effort to reduce the spread of Covid in densely populated areas. Many houses in slum communities hold up to 10 people in less than 25 Sqm (Even smaller in cases) once someone in the house contracts Covid the rest of the household follows quickly. Everybody that's stays at the center gets food, medicine and care provided

Helping the 120 families of Nuan Jan which is an unrecognized community located in Ekkamai. Not being an official community means help and community development is non existent, still the community keeps growing as its an option for people to find refugee in Bangkok. Unfortunately 80 out of the 120 houses have covid.

Bangkok sprawls with these small unrecognized communities and we do our best to help as many as we can.

Yesterday we had a emergency call for a camp in the Sathorn area (Sathu Pradit). 28 adults needed a helping hand. Thanks to you, Bangkok Community Help Foundation was able to help. Thank you. ❤️

They have no covid cases, no income as well cause of the camp lockdown. They have not been vaccinated yet. They were grateful they now are allowed to work since Monday but still can’t leave the camp.

The current situation in Bangkok on hospital beds, the plans and hurdles developing the Community isolation center, providing oxygen to people and more.

In the next six months, I feel with the current infection rate it will save 176 lives based on 2210 people who will stay here and the 8840 loved ones who won't get infected if we get the person out in time from the 15 Sq.m house. The infected person is living usually with 4 more people.

Help for 75 elderly in the Rong Moo community. In cooperation with Presentation Slums Mission Bangkok led by Sister Joan who has been living in the Rong Moo community for 25 years. In those years she helped numerous of people in the community with her rice, milk and schooling programs.

We were honored to be asked to help do the distribution as the new Covid outbreak has hindered them from safely distributing their care packages. The elderly are dependant on this help as they normal receive necessities every two weeks, we added our own care packages as well so every person received two bags instead of one ❤

Bangkok’s Little Angels

Thanks to you, we created a program at Bangkok Community Help Foundation to help kids who need milk and diapers. Mom and Dad perhaps need a helping hand cause of no job right now. Mom will send in a request for what size diapers and milk type. It's a fun project. ❤️❤️❤️ These were the kids the past couple weeks.

The inspiration from the program was hearing of suicides such as Plaifon Amsarika, 19, a security guard in Bangkok, who drew wide public attention last year as she did not have milk for her baby. With residents of Klong Toey, getting zero assistance from the government. Please give a helping hand until the family gets income again.

We got an emergency call from Phaedra Anastasia that the construction camp near her on Sukhumvit Rd Soi 22 was not getting any food. Sure enough 39 workers had not gotten anything for the last 20 days! When they call the owner, he would just hang up the phone. Not even water so they would boiled the water from the blue storage tank and would drink it. They were literally out of food and eaten up all supplies they had saved. No income and won't get the 150 baht a day from Social as they are not in the system.

Thanks to you ❤️, each worker got a survival bag of five kilos rice, 6 Mama noodle packs, 4 cans of fish, soy sauce, fish sauce, cooking oil, soap, alcohol spray and face mask and water.

Even though there is a rule prohibiting gathering. We can't stop. People are in trouble and we can't help but worry. Our solution was to limit the number of teams. Walking house to house is also good. It's a little slow, but it reaches every household.

This afternoon Bangkok Community Help Foundation went to a community between Soi Ekkamai 30 and the Khlong, to donate 400 care survival packs. We discovered a lot of stories of bravery, of struggle, and need for support:
Children raised by their grandparents, due the young age and immaturity of their parents;
Burmese woman, who lost her husband after 28 years together with him in Thailand, to Covid-19. Being herself a survivor of the virus, she finds herself stigmatized by the community;
A community leader who spent a year’s income on donating rice to his fellow citizens;
Poor families, taking turns in cooking for a neighbor who can’t leave his house anymore;
… and so on.

This woman in Ekamai has been fighting Covid for the past 5 days. At 02:00 this morning she desperately contacted the Bangkok Community Help Foundation saying she wasn't able to breathe and no hospital bed was available. We responded minutes after and provided her with the much needed oxygen she longed for.

Help for 142 workers on a closed construction camp on Phrakiat Ratchakan Thi 9 Road. The workers of 6 different companies have been stuck here for almost a month receiving little to no help. The district office provides every person with one meal a day, for anything remaining they're dependant on the help of outside. The rest is from kind donations. They in fact are compassionate enough to have sent their meal to another camp couple days ago, located two kms away which gets zero donations and zero support from the district or developer. They needed toiletries and sanitary products as almost everyone ran out. We packed special bags containing soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, alcohol gel, paracetamol and more.

280 people in this camp. According to the camp leader, they are not in the social system, the company did not pay when they were locked down. They were just now able to go back to work after testing negative for covid. Dried food and mask was needed as no money left for the mostly Thai and Myanmar that work there. They did receive food the first day the lockdown started. - After they didn’t see the company any more. The last time that someone donated, was hot food, it was a week ago and unfortunately it wasn’t enough for all 280 people. For the last month, they had pooled all the money to buy food and took care of each other.

Kind of a surreal experience as it seem like a normal day, with a construction crew working like we have seen countless times. Who knows what really happens in these camps in even normal times. One company representative said they did get food from the company yesterday as they stared working again. The company puts their sign up proudly so hopefully this was all a big misunderstanding and they did take care of their workers better during the lockdown.

Thanks to you, you probably saved several lives yesterday as the volunteers have oxygen tanks to provide for emergencies. Thank you. This is high stress but every life is precious. Eight cases yesterday of oxygen support.

The people with severe covid feel so hopeless. For instance at 1:30 this morning. They found a lady with very irregular breathing and very low oxygen. She had written. # Please share. I'm so very tired. I can't talk anymore. I went to the hospital, the doctor doesn't accept me for the examination cause I had no test done. I can't breathe. He wouldn't not even check my heartbeat. I’m going to die before I get old. Why won't they help people anymore at hospitals? Please help me. Location # Sukhumvit 63, Ekkamai 30, Wattana District

Countless stories like this. In the west, you have an emergency, you are admitted to the hospital. Now they have this system. You must have a Covid test done and wait in the Que for a bed to be admitted. I know one woman waiting since Thursday night at three hospitals for the testing ticket. They only test 300 to 350 people at most hospitals and only if you have the ticket to be tested.

One guy paid for a rapid test ten days ago and then a pcr test seven days ago. He has a million baht Covid policy. Still waiting for a hospital bed after getting registered. Several days ago, he had a irregular heartbeat and high fever. Now he's almost recovered. Staying with four siblings all who have Covid.

I have so many other stories but at the end, it really doesn't matter. God help you, if you have covid now in Bangkok and it's a serious case. We are here though to help you as best as we can. Bangkok Community Help Foundation

Help for 130 people stuck in two construction camps on Sukhumvit 22. Still unsure when they can resume work, hours become days as everyone wants to resume their work as soon as possible. The uncertainty of not knowing when is what makes the wait unbearable.

"Everyday we wait for some sort of news on what our faith is. Our families are waiting for us to resume work. My family in Myanmar hasn't been able to leave the house for months already, they're all dependant on the money I provide" says one worker.

450 care bags for every single house in the Ma Chim (มาชิม) community living along the railroad tracks along Sukhumvit Soi 1. We've been visiting this community many times over the past 1.5 year. Recently a new Covid cluster emerged here putting many of the residents to the brink of desperation. As Ma Chim isn't an official registered community help doesn't reach them often. We've been sending the community 200 meals a day for the last 90 days to help levitate the situation. To be more effective we used carts on the traintrack to push our care packages along.

Many residentsof Ma Chim suffer from Covid or are in self imposed quarantine. Some people haven't had income for months and are completely dependant on the help of outside. Living in make shift housing build next to the traintrack, people have to sleep under a plastic sheet when it rains. This community is right in the heart of Bangkoks normally bustling center.. Still many people do not know these people exist.

280 people divided over 3 camps have been stuck for over a month on a construction site in the heart of Bangkok. The first day of lockdown their employers handed them over food, after that they haven't seen them. The company on the contrary says the opposite. Whoever might be right, without any of the employees being registered in the Social Fund, none of them has made a single baht in the last month. Therefor they have not made a single baht and had to live on the money they had left in their pockets.

"We did get donations over time from outside, but with this many people it barely covers us all.
Some have money to buy food, others don't. We're very fortunate to have friends and family on the outside that might support us" one female workers from the North East of Thailand said.

The good news is that part of the workers were able to resume their work since early this week. We brought everyone our care packages to help them through this period of difficulty and hardship. The faith of many of these workers is still unknown as a longer lockdown is looming for some of them.

Thanks to your help they do not have to worry about having enough food to wait for their soon to be decided faith.

Meeting with the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority on the vaccination of Migrant Workers together with #ThumDeeDaiDee.

Under special permission the BMA has agreed to vaccinate every single person of the 80,000 migrant workers that are stuck in the 611 worker camps around Bangkok. No matter registered in the Social system or not and no matter the country of birth. The vaccination has started and the first 10.000 migrant workers have already been vaccinated with Astra Zeneca.

A huge win for the construction workers as they will be able to resume their work immediately after vaccination

"Can I please put a blanket over my mother? Her body feels so cold..."

This is what the young girl in the picture asked us. What she didn't know was that her mother died in the same room, 15 minutes before we arrived. Our help came too late...

The mother was tested for Covid on the 16th. She only learned she was Covid positive when the result arrived yesterday. In the meantime her symptoms worsened. Without a positive PCR test no hospital in Bangkok allows patients to come on the waiting list of hospital bed. Hospitals around Bangkok are receiving thousands of inquiries every single day.

We were able to supply the father of the young child with Oxygen. He is still waiting for a bed.

The reason we share this story is to raise awareness for the extreme shortage of hospital beds in Thailand. People are dying in their homes right now, helplessly.

แม่ของเด็กถูกตรวจหาเชื้อโควิดเมื่อวันที่ 16 เธอเพิ่งรู้ว่าเธอติดเชื้อโควิดเมื่อผลมาถึงเมื่อวานนี้ ในระหว่างนี้อาการของเธอแย่ลง หากไม่มีการทดสอบ PCR บวก ไม่มีโรงพยาบาลใดในกรุงเทพฯ ที่จะอนุญาตให้ผู้ป่วยมาอยู่ในรายการรอของเตียงในโรงพยาบาล โรงพยาบาลทั่วกรุงเทพได้รับการสอบถามข้อมูลนับพันทุกวัน

เราสามารถจัดหาออกซิเจนให้พ่อของลูกน้อยได้ เขายังคงรอเตียง

Handout of survival care bags to a remote community only accessed by a boat or a 30 minute walk through the jungle. The island is situated in the middle or the Prakanong Canal. As it's un unrecognized community there's no bridge to the island. Everything has to go on and off by boat.

 Rest in Peace. Very sad news.  The young lady who wrote on Instagram “ that she is not going to grow old. Please help. “ Our volunteers arrived to find her breathing was very labored. She was rushed to the hospital after we provided oxygen support.  Unfortunately, she died last night. Not till she shared the compliment about Princess “Thank you very much for helping each other to the best of your ability. This team has a very lovely woman. She takes  care of the sick and talks very well to me. I was treated just like her relative. I really appreciate this person. She provide information, advice and her help is very good “   Please support so we can continue to provide oxygen support to people 

On July 25th we visited a construction camp at Sukhumvut Rd Soi 26. 194 people live here and still under quarantine.  Unfortunately they still have Covid cases at this camp.
