Ayui Foundation

Since 2007, the Ayui Foundation in Chiang Rai has been supporting disadvantaged Akha hilltribe youth (of any religion) by providing access to life-changing education as well as healthcare, food and a safe place to live. We have a separate hostel for girls and boys aged 10 and older, and cover their educational costs while enabling them to live in a supportive environment. Ayui (pronounced ‘ah-yeu’) is the Akha word for ‘older sister’ and the hostels were opened with the idea of a nurturing and understanding older sister providing much-needed support. Aside from taking the children to school or college, we also teach them life skills such as cooking, washing their clothes, driving, computer use, job search skills and assist with citizenship applications, if needed.

Since 2007, the Ayui Foundation in Chiang Rai has been supporting disadvantaged Akha hilltribe youth (of any religion) by providing access to life-changing education as well as healthcare, food and a safe place to live. We are hoping to raise funds that would help the children get through the last few months of school. We have a monthly ependiture of THB 80,000 to provide them with school supplies, food, toiletries, water and electric bill for 3 houses, transportation and wage for 2 staff. As donor organizations are focusing all their funding efforts towards those affected by Covid, Ayui Foundation had hardly any donations since the start of the school year, and they are in desperate need of funds. If you, or anyone you know, are able to make a donation to the Ayui Foundation or hold a fundraiser, we would really appreciate your help to get us through the next few months.
