Help us help the ”forgotten” people living in landfill slums in Bangkok.
There are about 300 people including many children that are living in extreme poverty and they are living inside the landfill surrounded by waste, yes their home is made of our waste garbage. They are working as trash workers and are spending their days combing through broken glass, medical waste, rotting food, and mountains of plastic. They are working under the burning sun surrounded by flies, and the smell of these dumps is sickening, exacerbated by dark plumes of thick smoke billowing from piles of trash that have spontaneously combusted because of unstoppable rising methane gases. It is hell on earth. For these people, they have no choice but to call it home.
Surrounded by garbage, rotting food, feces, and rodents
The people and children are exposed to life-threatening diseases such as pneumonia and flu. Other health problems such as eye, nose and throat irritation, respiratory infections are very common and are commonly spread through a lack of hygiene and the serious contaminated air quality containing acid gases
They don’t have access to hot water or even running water, but have to go and buy it from their hard-earned money.
These people need your help. They are in the need of the following:
Rice, 400 Bags of 5 kg
Milk powder, 50pcs
2000 Canned Fish
400 Medical kits including (wound cleaners, gauge, tape etc)
