Hello, my name is Dewald. My parents in law and my wife
and I were recently caught in the worst
floods southern Thailand has seen in 300
years. The province we live in Hat Yai was completely destroyed and Our home was flooded nearly up to
the ceiling, and we have lost about 80%
of our belongings, including all major
appliances and electronic devices.
The clean-up operations are extremely
difficult and deeply emotional, especially
as we see building a home
destroyed in just a few hours. We are
currently working through the
heartbreaking task of throwing awaway what
took over a decade to build. Despite the
stress and sadness, we remind ourselves
that we are among the lucky ones, and we
face each new day with hope and
optimism.I am reaching out to my fellow South Africans in these troubling times, for any donations possible.
Donations will be used to replace
essential items such as kitchen appliances and utensils, a washing machine,
mattresses, lamps, and furniture including
wardrobes, sofas, desks, repair on our vehicles that would take us to and from work when we can get to work,
Basically everytthing was destroyed.
