Dear Friends and Animal Lovers,
I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for help. My beloved son's dog, GT, has recently been diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a condition that has left her suddenly lame due to a slipped disk. GT is not just a pet; she's a cherished member of our family, bringing joy, love, and companionship to my son and everyone around her.
GT's condition deteriorated rapidly, and our veterinarian has urgently recommended surgery to relieve her pain and restore her mobility. Without this operation, GT's quality of life will continue to decline, and the pain she's experiencing is unbearable to witness.
Covering the cost of GT's surgery is an immense financial burden. The estimated cost of the surgery and post-operative care is daunting, and despite our best efforts, we simply cannot afford it alone. However, we are committed to exploring alternative treatments until we can afford the surgery, but time is of the essence, and we fear delaying the necessary intervention could worsen GT's condition and possibly leave her permanently paralyzed.
Your generous donation will make a world of difference in GT's life. Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring us closer to providing her with the medical care she desperately needs. Together, we can give GT the chance to run, play, and live her best life again.
GT is not just a dog; she's a beloved companion who has brought so much happiness into our lives. Please consider donating and sharing our campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Your kindness and generosity will not go unnoticed, and we will forever be grateful for your support during this challenging time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us give GT a fighting chance.
With immense gratitude,
Louis, Chrisna and Morgan
Dear friends and supporters and animal lovers,
We're thrilled to share an exciting update on GT's journey to recovery!
Thanks to your incredible generosity, the Vet was able to speak with a veterinary specialist in Bangkok and receive expert advice on GT's scan results and treatment plan. The good news is that surgery is not required!
Your donations not only helped with covering part of the scans and emergency care but also helped us secure additional private donations, ensuring we can afford GT's emergency care and medication. We are truly grateful for your outpouring of support, which allowed us to act quickly and get GT the best possible care in the fastest timeframe.
While GT's road to full recovery will still be long, we are optimistic and deeply moved by your compassion and kindness. We see how much GT and animal welfare mean to all of you, and witnessing your dedication fuels our own.
We cannot thank you enough for contributing to GT's well-being. Your donations have made a tangible and undeniable difference, and we will keep you updated on GT's progress every step of the way.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Louis van Wyk and the GT family
We had GT at the Animal Hospital yesterday and got the CT scan done. The report was sent to us late last night. (I want to thank the Vets for working so late).
You can watch a video feedback on YouTube regarding this at https://youtu.be/0nc42IdhINg
Yesterday's Cost of scan cost was 13,700.00 THB.
We took GT to Hug Me Animal Hospital this morning. They will do the scan this afternoon. We have people that privately donated straight to our account and by withdrawing all our money from our accounts, this will be possible.
GT is still fighting the condition and standing with her one back leg now, though not how it is supposed to be. The right leg is still not working with her.
We have to watch her continuously, yesterday afternoon, she wanted to shuffle to the gate to go bark with the other dogs we have.
So that people can see what we already paid to the Vets.
Please see the Vet Bills so far.
Hug Me Animal Hospital on 09 Feb 2023 - 2,342.00 THB
Our regular Vet. is 2,550.00 THB
Bringing the total as of this moment, 4,892.00 THB
We took GT yesterday to our regular vet for a second opinion. Also, we asked him for more medication for her and what we could do to give her the best care.
He confirmed she still has feelings in her hind legs and told us to keep stimulating it. Unfortunately, he is not able to do the operation and also he does not have the equipment to do the scan. He did however recommend what he believes is the best animal hospital that can assist us. He did do a blood test and also provided us with medication.
We contacted the suggested animal hospital (CFA Pet Hospital) and asked how much a scan and operation would cost. They only provided us with the price of the scan without all the extras that go with it. 15 000 THB.
We are slightly worried as since this has happened, GT has not had any bowel movements, no pee or poo. So we plan to take her today to CFA Pet Hospital and get them to check her and maybe help with her bowel movement.
The good news is that looking on Facebook at the CFA Pet Hospital, they have an underwater treadmill that will help with the post-operation recovery phase.
I want to say thank you to all who have already donated. Please donate if you can and share to get the word out.
Thank you, Louis, Chrisna, and Morgan.
