Hello! My name is Pawanrat B. from Bangkok, Thailand. This is my cat Kyo. I adopted Kyo as a stray kitten, rescued him from a motorway in 2015. Kyo has been my beloved companion for seven years.
On 28th February, Kyo’s health declined, and I took him to the veterinary hospital. He was diagnosed with struvite crystals blocking his urinary tracks. The doctor fitted a urinary catheter and administered medication. As the cat was very unwell (unable to urinate and vomiting) it had to remain in the hospital for 4 days. He returned home, though still very unwell, but developed complications, and had to go back to the hospital. After lots of treatment, Kyo’s health is more stable, but his creatinine levels are high, and the doctors are worried that he will develop kidney problems. And the doctors have prescribed special medications and foods for urinary problem cats.
The veterinary hospital and treatments so far have cost a lot of money. I have had to borrow some money from friends and relatives to cover some bills, and I still owe some money to the hospital. Hence, I am finding it difficult to cope with the financial burden.
So I would like to ask for contributions to help my beloved cat survive. I have discovered that there is very little information on Thai websites for this urinary condition in cats. So I have a plan to spread this knowledge and post information to Pantip.com to make Thai speakers aware of symptoms, treatment, and diet.
Thank you so very much for all the support. I will post update the condition of Kyo often. Thank you again from both of us.
