A young Ukrainian man, a victim of a taxi with a green label, crashed through a red light and is in critical condition. He stopped breathing for a while and is awaiting major surgery. The couple has no money to pay and needs help with donations.
Regarding the case: 28-year-old Mr. Artur Kostenko from Ukraine was riding a big bike when he was hit by a taxi with a green sign that ran a red light. The serious crash occurred at the Samkong intersection in the city of Phuket on the evening of 19th December.
He was later transported to Vejthani Hospital in Bangkok due to its readiness in terms of the medical team and modern equipment, especially for orthopedic treatment. This is because no local hospital could provide the necessary care for his orthopedic injuries, which is known through his Thai girlfriend, friends, and relatives.
He flew to Thailand to observe his condition. As per the latest update from his girlfriend, last night his condition was still critical, and he experienced a temporary cessation of breathing. The medical staff performed emergency resuscitation. Fortunately, his pulse returned, but his condition remains serious. He has a spinal cord injury, fluid in his lungs, and head trauma. He is scheduled for another major surgery today.
Currently, the treatment expenses amount to fifty thousand baht, and they don't have the funds to cover this. The hospital is trying to assist with both the treatment and the costs. However, as a foreigner, he does not qualify for certain benefits and must pay all the treatment costs himself.
