Founded in 2015, Help Thai is an NGO started by Daranee Prompun Cobham and her son, Timothy Henderson. Wanting to continue in the efforts and wishes of Daranee's father and Tim's grandather, we started this charity to help children from the poorest parts of Thailand. Our aim is to provide these kids with the opportunity to study and create a better future for themselves and their family.

The Story

Since being established in November 2015, Help Thai has raised over 1.7 million Baht. We have supported 29 children in Buriram and Nakhon Sri Thammarat provinces in Thailand. Our scholarships are aimed at giving these children a chance to study without having to worry about where they will find money for food or educational materials. Our educational support has covered monthly scholarships, school supplies such as uniforms, sports clothes, calculators, shoes, bags, laptops, and books, school, university and technical college registration fees, university and technical college term fees, dormitory fees, extra tuition fees for entrance exams, internship fees, and graduation fees including robe rentals, pictures, processing fees, etc.

We have also provided additional assistance including blankets for the children we support and local villagers during the colder months of the year, building new homes, new roofs, new toilets (we have built 5 new homes and restored 4 other homes), fans, wheelchairs, food staples such as rice, eggs, and canned fish, activities for each time we visit the children, and fabric face masks for the children we support and local villagers during Covid-19.

Currently we are supporting 23 children through school, from primary school up to technical college and university. Our monthly scholarships total are 26,050 Baht per month and therefore any donation is greatly appreciated and will go towards benefiting the lives of the children that we sponsor.
