Baby Joey was born a week back in a Bangkok hospital. He was born with a condition called Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN). This is a dangerous condition which may cause a baby not to get enough oxygen after birth. Since birth, he has been supported by ventilator and nitric oxide to help expand the blood vessels in his lungs. While treatment is ongoing, it is expensive. We want to transfer him to another hospital to cope with expense but due to the critical condition, doctors advices that he cannot be moved. This is resulting in rising medical bills (1 million as of day 5th of hospitalisation).
While baby Joey continues to fight this battle, every donation counts as we are going beyond our means to save him. At this juncture we humbly request for your support and contribution so baby Joey can continue to breathe. We would be eternally grateful for every contribution to help save Joey.
Baby Joey is home!!!
After being in hospital for 5 weeks, and fighting PPHN, pneumonia and hpotension, baby Joey arrived home on 18th March. His recovery from hypoxemia will continue over the next 6 months through oxygenation at home. We are relieved that the most challenging part of this journey is over and look forward to the future with optimism.
Many of you have called baby Joey a fighter- but this fight wouldn’t have been possible without your support. Our entire world was shaken, but supported by all of you - friends, family, colleagues and well-wishers - who through contributions, words of encouragement and positive thoughts/prayers have willed this fight to be victorious. THANK YOU!!
On behalf of baby Joey, our wish for you:
May you have auspiciousness and causes of success
May you have the confidence to always do your best
May you be treated like an esteemed guest
May you get to rest, may you catch your breath

Grateful parents
It's been 1 month since baby Joey was born, and while he has spent all this time in the hospital, he has gotten much better especially since the last 10 days. While we are waiting in anticipation for him to come home, we are also worried about the next 6 months - he is likely to require oxygen therapy at home (information link below) . We are evaluating options for the medical equipment required at home to ensure the most effective treatment while not compromising on medical care. Thank you for your support and encouragement so far. Hoping to have more positive news in the next update.
8th March: Baby Joey has shown progress in the last week. He still requires oxygenation and doctors have advised that he is likely to remain in hospital for 2-3 weeks. We request for your continued support, encouragement and hope for a faster recovery.
As of 2nd March, baby Joey continues to be stable; ventilator support has been withdrawn, however he still requires oxygenation. Hoping that he recovers quickly.
As of 26Feb: Baby Joey has started showing improvement since the last 2 days; however he continues to remain in a critical condition as he is still dependent on the ventilator. We are waiting to move him to another hospital which can then bring down medical expenses.
Thank you to so many generous contributors who have helped baby Joey contiue to fight.
We still require funds to keep him on the ventilator and humbly request your continued support.
