The Bangkok Community Help Foundation (BCHF) is a remarkable organization dedicated to supporting and uplifting the less fortunate in society. It’s desperately needed as the houses are on top of each other, when a fire happens. The volunteers that live in the community need a special fire engines to pump water and proper jackets. What k Not was using on last weeks fire before the donation on Friday of fire suits. We have two more communities to outfit. We need your help. ❤️

Bangkok Community Help Foundation last week was helping to provide water and 500 meals to firefighters and residents fighting the fire in Ban Kai Rama 4 community. The latest fire has been controlled. Fire started in a two story wood building and quickly spread.

Sending fresh drinking water and meals to the fireman and the community members of the fire in Bonkai community (Rama 4) - Over 30 houses were lost.

The fire when it first started at Sampeng market. Every second is critical on response. Still two dead and 9 firefighters suffered from smoke inhalation. The video is from the team with Pattamai who just got fire fighting suits and equipment on Friday and used it today.

The volunteer firefighters needed a firefighting pump
which cost 279,000 baht.
Bangkok Community Help Foundation bought the same model from Japan for 26,000 baht second hand. BCHF also bought the connectors and hoses and this was an additional 7,300 baht. 

Firefighters also wear a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) with a full 30- minute bottle of air weighing 15 kilos. This cost 140,000 baht in the USA for certain brands and BCHF bought a Draeger SCBA for 11,650 baht per unit second hand for two firemen. 

A fire fighter uniform consists of a fiberglass helmet with hood, bunker coat and pants, gloves and boots that collectively weigh roughly 15 kilos. This cost around 60,000 baht new per outfit. In the USA, the estimated cost is around 400,000 baht per firefighter.
