Help us build a new house for Grandmother Sunee and her grandchildren.

Grandmother Sunee and her grandchildren have lived their whole life in the biggest slum of Bangkok: ‘The Klong Toey Slum’ A place for the poorest people in the society of the Thai capital. With over 130,000 residents, many of them do not have the means to improve their livelihoods. Grandmother Sunee lives on a 45 euro’s Government pension and is the only one who takes care of the children. The father and mother of the 4-year old N’Khana and the 13- year old N’Karn have left the family, looking for a better life. Leaving their kids behind for Grandmother to take care of. Grandmother Sunee’s greatest wish is to have a house for themselves, where the kids can grow up long after Grandmother has left this world. At present time they live in a two-storey ramshackle house. The house is approximately 20 sqm and houses up to 9 people at times.

Chloe Wittebrood, who is living in Thailand, is working together with the Bangkok Community Help Foundation on building a new home for this family. The goal of this fundraiser is to raise 10.000 euro and with that be able to build a brand new home for this lovely family.

Help Grootmoeder Sunee en haar kleinkinderen met het bouwen van een nieuw huis.

Grootmoeder Sunee en haar kleinkinderen wonen al hun hele leven in de grootste sloppenwijk van Bangkok: ‘The Klong Toey Slum’ - Een plek voor de aller armste van de Thaise hoofdstad met meer dan 130,000 inwoners. Veel mensen in de sloppenwijken hebben niet de middelen om hun leven te verbeteren. Grootmoeder Sunee leeft van een uitkering van 45 euro per maand en is de enige die voor haar kleinkinderen zorgt. De vader en moeder van 4-jarige Khana en 13jarige Karn zijn vertrokken, op zoek naar een beter leven. De kinderen achtergelaten bij hun oma. Grootmoeder Sunee’s grootste wens is een eigen huis te hebben, waar haar kleinkinderen kunnen opgroeien, lang nadat Grootmoeder Sunee er zelf niet meer is. Op het moment wonen Sunee en de kinderen in een klein, op de rand van instorten huisje, met soms zo veel als 9 mensen in niet meer dan 20 vierkante meter.

De Nederlandse Chloe Wittebrood werkt samen met de Bangkok Community Help Foundation om een nieuw huis te bouwen voor deze familie. Het doel van deze actie is om 10.000 euro op te halen. Met dit geld kan een compleet nieuw, 2 verdieping huis worden gebouwd.
