Help us cover medical costs for brain surgery

KS is 27 years old and came to Thailand from Myanmar in order to study and work as a freelance journalist. 

On Friday 18th November, KS had an accident when travelling on a friend’s motorbike back home in Chiang Mai. Despite Thai traffic rules permitting this, another rider attempted to cross a one-way road in order to enter an opposite street. This resulted in the rider crashing into KS and his friend’s motorbike. KS sustained serious head trauma and immediately lost consciousness. An ambulance took him to Maharaj Nakorn Hospital. It was here that KS was diagnosed with a severe brain haemorrhage and was in a coma. The hospital provided emergency brain surgery for 5 hours, where his chance of survival was at 50%. Thankfully the surgery was successful and KS regained consciousness. However, the surgeons had to remove part of KS’s skull, and the complications/consequences of his head injuries means that he has not fully recovered. While KS has now been discharged from the hospital, his recovery process requires further treatment (in order to cover up and protect the rest of his now open skull), and around the clock care by a medical professional for a year or possibly two. Due to this, KS will not be able to work and thus receive an income. 

As of now, some of KS’s close friends and family are providing the necessary funds for treatment, but the medical fees and care far exceed our capacity. The final hospital bills was 200,000THB, but this will increase significantly once the fees of full-time professional medical care is taken into account. 

An incident report has been documented with the Thai Police and they have concluded that this was an accident inflicted by the other rider, and we are currently in the process of obtaining funds from the rider’s insurance. Unfortunately the money we will receive is not sufficient in covering KS’s medical fees - especially due to the brain surgery and the two weeks in which he stayed in Maharaj Nakorn Hospital’s trauma ward. Therefore, we have created this fundraising campaign as an urgent plea to help us raise money for KS’s recovery. We have received permission from KS’s family to do this, and we will post regular updates about KS’s progress.

KS သည် အသက် ၂၇ နှစ်ရှိပြီဖြစ်ပြီး အလွတ်တန်း သတင်းထောက်အဖြစ် ပညာသင်ကြားရန် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှ ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံသို့ ရောက်ရှိလာသူဖြစ်သည်။

နိုဝင်ဘာလ ၁၈ ရက် သောကြာနေ့တွင် KS သည် ချင်းမိုင်မြို့ရှိ သူငယ်ချင်း၏ ဆိုင်ကယ်ဖြင့် နေအိမ်သို့ ပြန်လာစဉ် KS မတော်တဆမှု ဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့သည်။ ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံ၏ ယာဉ်စည်းကမ်းအရ ခွင့်ပြုထားသော်လည်း ဆန့်ကျင်ဘက်လမ်းတစ်ခုသို့ ဝင်ရောက်ရန် အခြားယာဉ်စီးသူတစ်ဦးက လမ်းဖြတ်ကူးရန် ကြိုးပမ်းခဲ့သည်။ ယင်းကြောင့် စီးနင်းသူသည် KS နှင့် ၎င်း၏ သူငယ်ချင်း၏ဆိုင်ကယ်ကို တိုက်မိခဲ့သည်။ KS သည် ပြင်းထန်သော ဦးခေါင်းဒဏ်ရာ ရရှိပြီး ချက်ချင်း သတိလစ်သွားခဲ့သည်။ လူနာတင်ယာဉ်က သူ့ကို Maharaj Nakorn ဆေးရုံကို ခေါ်သွားတယ်။ ဤနေရာတွင် KS သည် ပြင်းထန်သော ဦးနှောက်သွေးယိုစီးမှုရှိကြောင်း စစ်ဆေးတွေ့ရှိခဲ့ပြီး မေ့မြောသွားခဲ့သည်။ ဆေးရုံသည် အရေးပေါ် ဦးနှောက်ခွဲစိတ်မှုကို ၅ နာရီကြာ ဆောင်ရွက်ပေးခဲ့ပြီး အသက်ရှင်နိုင်ခြေ 50% ရှိကြောင်း သိရသည်။ ကျေးဇူးတင်စွာဖြင့် ခွဲစိတ်မှုအောင်မြင်ပြီး KS သတိပြန်ဝင်လာခဲ့သည်။ သို့သော်လည်း ခွဲစိတ်ဆရာဝန်များသည် KS ၏ ဦးခေါင်းခွံအစိတ်အပိုင်းကို ဖယ်ရှားခဲ့ရပြီး သူ၏ ဦးခေါင်းဒဏ်ရာ၏ နောက်ဆက်တွဲပြဿနာများ/အကျိုးဆက်များသည် အပြည့်အဝ ပြန်လည်ကောင်းမွန်လာခြင်းမရှိဟု ဆိုလိုခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။ KS သည် ယခု ဆေးရုံမှ ဆင်းလာချိန်တွင် ၎င်း၏ ပြန်လည် ထူထောင်ရေး လုပ်ငန်းစဉ်တွင် နောက်ထပ် ကုသမှုများ လိုအပ်သည် (ယခု သူ၏ ဦးခေါင်းခွံ တစ်ခုလုံးကို ဖုံးကွယ်ကာ ကာကွယ်ရန်) နှင့် ဆေးဘက်ဆိုင်ရာ ပညာရှင် မှ တစ်နှစ် သို့မဟုတ် နှစ်ပတ်ကြာ ပြုစုစောင့်ရှောက်ရန် လိုအပ်ပါသည်။ ထို့အတွက်ကြောင့် KS သည် အလုပ်မလုပ်နိုင်တော့သဖြင့် ၀င်ငွေရရှိမည်ဖြစ်သည်။

ယခုအချိန်တွင် KS ၏ ရင်းနှီးသောမိတ်ဆွေများနှင့် မိသားစုအချို့သည် ကုသမှုအတွက် လိုအပ်သော ရန်ပုံငွေများကို ပံ့ပိုးပေးနေကြသော်လည်း ဆေးဖိုးနှင့် စောင့်ရှောက်မှုသည် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ စွမ်းရည်ထက် များစွာကျော်လွန်နေပါသည်။ နောက်ဆုံးဆေးရုံဘေလ်များသည် THB 200,000 ဖြစ်သည်၊ သို့သော် အချိန်ပြည့်အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကျောင်းဆေးဝါးစောင့်ရှောက်မှု၏အခကြေးငွေကိုထည့်သွင်းစဉ်းစားပါက သိသိသာသာတိုးလာမည်ဖြစ်သည်။

အဖြစ်အပျက် အစီရင်ခံစာကို ထိုင်းရဲများထံ မှတ်တမ်းတင်ထားပြီး ယင်းသည် အခြားစီးနင်းသူ၏ မတော်တဆမှုတစ်ခုဖြစ်ကြောင်း ၎င်းတို့က ကောက်ချက်ချကာ လက်ရှိတွင် စီးနင်းသူ၏ အာမခံထံမှ ရန်ပုံငွေများ ရယူဆောင်ရွက်နေပါသည်။ ကံမကောင်းစွာဖြင့်၊ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ရရှိမည့်ငွေသည် KS ၏ ဆေးဘက်ဆိုင်ရာအခကြေးငွေကို ပေးဆောင်ရန် မလုံလောက်ပါ - အထူးသဖြင့် ဦးနှောက်ခွဲစိတ်မှုနှင့် Maharaj Nakorn ဆေးရုံ၏ စိတ်ဒဏ်ရာဌာနတွင် နှစ်ပတ်ကြာနေထိုင်ခဲ့သောကြောင့် မလုံလောက်ပါ။ ထို့ကြောင့်၊ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် KS ပြန်လည်ထူထောင်ရေးအတွက် ရန်ပုံငွေရှာရာတွင် ကူညီရန်အတွက် အရေးပေါ်အသနားခံမှုအဖြစ် ဤရန်ပုံငွေရှာဖွေရေးကမ်ပိန်းကို ဖန်တီးထားပါသည်။ ၎င်းကိုလုပ်ဆောင်ရန် KS ၏မိသားစုထံမှခွင့်ပြုချက်ရရှိထားပြီး KS ၏တိုးတက်မှုနှင့်ပတ်သက်သည့်ပုံမှန်မွမ်းမံမှုများကို ကျွန်ုပ်တို့တင်ပါမည်။
