Dearest friends,

My name is Maria Fernandes, from Brazil, and I am studying Marine Plastics Abatement at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. Over the last few years, I've gone through many ups and downs, but even in tough times, I've always strived to achieve my dreams.

Today, I am very happy because I have been selected to attend the 7th International Marine Debris Conference (7IMDC), which will take place from the 18th to the 23rd of September 2022 in Busan, Republic of Korea. Unfortunately, the flight ticket, accommodation, and registration are very expensive. So, I am afraid I won’t be able to attend due to my financial situation.

Despite that, I am still excited to continue this journey working on the issue of marine litter and Ocean Plastic Pollution, believing in myself that I CAN DO IT. And, I am a strong believer in the quote by Aman Mehndiratta: “Do Good and Good Will Come to You”. If you decide to help me today, I will be forever grateful to you.
