Loop Abroad Australia High School Pre-Vet Wildlife Conservation Summer Program

My name is Pimmy Sue! In 5th grade, I discovered a passion for wildlife and the urge to pursue a career in veterinary science. Since then, I've worked so hard to step closer to that dream, whether that be finding my own extracurriculars outside of school related to this field, acheiving good grades, becoming a better version of myself through relationships I make with other people, and learning to be a team player. Last year, I discovered an organization that gave high schoolers just like me an opportunity to experience what it's like to be a veterinarian. Loop Abroad, the name of the organization, bring people of all ages to countries such as Costa Rica, the United States of America, Thailand, and Australia to experience life in the wild and co-existing with the native species of that region. Since discovering their 2-week Australia program, I've never stopped thinking about it. And they just opened for applications, but the tuition fee and airfare goes beyond what my family can afford.

In 2017, a friend we thought we could trust took everything from us. They took over 20 million baht from my family,  with no hint of remorse. Every single baht that my family had, gone. All the hard work my parents put into saving for my high school and college tuition, gone. Now, with only one working family member, we live on a month-by-month basis, barely being able to pay for necessary items or bills.  But my parents never let me give up on my dreams. They still want to support me and see me make it to veterinary school. And they also want me to get to experience this program for myself. All the money I raise from this campaign will go towards the tuition of this program.

This is so important to me because before realizing we couldn't afford it, I longed to go to the University of Melbourne and graduate from there with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. But that dream shattered with reality caught up to me, and I knew that I wasn't eligible for any scholarships they offered, meaning my parents couldn't afford to send me there. But I still hold out hope that one day I can work as a veterinarian in Australia. Before reaching that point, though, I know how much work will be required for me to get there. This Australia program lets me live a part of my dream, even if its just for 2 weeks. 

I haven't even traveled outside of Asia before, but i already know that attending this Australia program is going to be one of the best moments of my life. My chances of ever going to study in Australia dims every single day, but if I get to go to this one program, I know it will change my life. I'll be immensely grateful for every single person who donates towards my campaign. For the rest of my life, I will remember those who helped me acheive my dream, and those who supported me, whether that was before, during, or after the program.
