Lanta Animal Welfare was founded by Junie Kovacs in 2005. Her mission was to end the suffering of the hundreds of homeless, abused and injured animals on Koh Lanta. To date, we have sterilised and treated over 15,000 animals, and with your support we continue to grow helping more and more animals each year.

Prevent Painful Skin Diseases in Rescued and Stray Animals!

Skin diseases mean terrible suffering for the animals. They cause extremely itchy and sore areas, that lead to open wounds which can cause maggot infection. These poor animals are often abused and shooed away when people see them. Rescued animals at Lanta Animal Welfare need weekly Malaseb baths and all stray animals brought to the clinic for treatment also need to be bathed and washed. Using Malaseb regularly controls the skin diseases plaguing the animals.

You can eliminate infections and get skin disease under control on Koh Lanta by donating towards the cost of Malaseb Shampoo. 32,000 B is needed to treat all animals for 6 months!

Lanta Animal Welfare is an animal rescue charity on Koh Lanta, Krabi. Our primary goals and mission include controlling the animal population through sterilization, rescuing animals in peril, educating the locals about animal care, and re-homing animals in danger to forever families around the world. We do all this with volunteers and receive no government funding whatsoever.

We have approximately 50 cats and 40 dogs in residence at the rescue. Every day we see many stray animals with skin problems. Most have skin diseases from infections that festered under their fur and are spreading over their bodies. Malaseb is a medicated shampoo used to treat and prevent many skin infections.
