The Story

The Peace and Happiness Foundation runs on the dream to provide education in the English language to underprivileged children of Thailand, beginning from the first grade of primary school. Our founder, Ms. Natasha Stewart, found inspiration from the late King Bhumibol to help the children of Thailand develop their analytical skills and English ability by bringing the teaching method of international schools into the poorer Thai schools. Currently we are connected with around thirteen schools in Northern Thailand - in the provinces of Chiang Rai and Nan, reaching out to approximately 100 students aged 7-8.

Peace and Happiness provides education that includes the development of analytical skills, English language, Math, Science, as well as Social and Health concepts. One of the many attributes that makes our education method unique is the dual purpose curriculum to not only teach English but to also prepare them for life outside of school. Using modern technology to facilitate our teaching, children will be exposed to videos containing teaching materials prepared by our team of experienced teachers. Over the years, almost 100 children under our program are now bilingual and effective critical thinkers.

It is worth your attention that due to poor economic conditions there is an increasing number of young children in different parts of Thailand, who are facing various challenges, such as human trafficking and prostitution. We believe every child should be entitled to the same opportunity of quality education, and through being knowledgeable they can make a change to their own life. By nurturing children with a different insight, we believe that they can be the leaders of tomorrow and contribute to the motherland.

We are aiming to raise funds of 1M THB to produce and record teaching videos for Grade 3. This involves our production team (cameraman and videographer), teacher and lesson planner. We do our own lesson plans to ensure we incorporate our mission to teach analytical thinking skills to the students. The teaching videos created will be used onto following years. We started with Grade 1 and we will continue making teaching videos upto Grade 9.

This project is a meaningful one. Currently we are a small group, who collaborate across the board of curriculum, writing lessons and activities, creating teaching materials and visual aids, as well as managing relationships with local schools.
