If you’re here, it probably means you already know about our project!
➡︎➡︎ This community building will be dedicated to empowering Akha families.
Our objective is to break the cycle of poverty in Mae Yao District in Chiang Rai and protect our wonderful Akha culture.
My name is Jane, I am Akha myself, and this project is happening in my own village, Asha, just 30 minutes from Chiang Rai city.
This Christmas community building will include:
✂︎ A cooperative and creative corner for women to craft their products (Christmas decorations, Phuang Malai, bags...)
❤︎ A boutique to sell Akha products and a welcoming space for visitors to learn about our culture while enjoying Akha coffee
♞ A library and a gaming area for the village's kids
※ A Pop-Corn corner!
We’ll:
✎ Organize free English classes for the Akha craft women.
✎ Work to document and protect Akha culture (recipes, family legends, and more).
♫ Organize village parties.
▶︎ Organize night storytelling sessions for kids.
☛ We will engrave your generosity in these walls, which you will be able to visit, and even stay in as a homestay.
☛ We will publish updates on the construction progress week by week, with full transparency on expenditures.
☛ By donating to this community building, you are also creating a space for yourself to disconnect during a holiday and discover a place where human culture is at the center of village life.
☛ A place of authenticity, with no AI, no VR, no bots—a place with humans and nature.
We take all support, from 1 to 1,000,000 THB.
☺A Cultural Center for the Akhas and for you.
Thank you ❤︎
