Lanta Animal Welfare was founded by Junie Kovacs in 2005. Her mission was to end the suffering of the hundreds of homeless, abused and injured animals on Koh Lanta. To date, we have sterilised and treated over 15,000 animals, and with your support we continue to grow helping more and more animals each year.

Safely Walk a Rescue Dog

High quality leads ensure rescue dogs get their exercise

Daily exercise is so important for the rescue dogs at Lanta Animal Welfare. However, we've had to limit the fun walks to the beach and through the rubber plantations as many of our leads are breaking. The leads are very old. The daily wear and tear is causing them to breakdown. The poor rescue dogs are terrified when they get lost after their lead breaks. Most of them are still being treated for their wounds and need their regularly scheduled medicine. Unfortunately many of the dogs now get only basic exercise because it is to risky to take them very far with the old leads.
