Bangkok, Thailand is home to an increasing number of urban refugees coming from countries including Pakistan, Syria, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Somalia and China who are fleeing armed conflict and persecution in their home countries.

Refugees that overstay their visas or enter Thailand without proper documentation are considered illegal immigrants under Thai law. Thailand is not a signatory of the 1951 Refugee Convention and does not recognize refugees rights. A lot of them flee to Thailand misinformed by people smugglers promising them safety and work before being resettled to another country.

We are a group of people supporting refugees. We are raising funds to help them get their freedom back by paying their bail and release them from the IDC (Immigration detention center)

Some of them have been in the detention center for years. A lot of them have lost all their families and have nobody to support them. Others have been separated from their families who live in very difficult conditions in Bangkok. The COVID 19 pandemic has also delayed their ressetlement and the IDC is now overcrowded and an inhumane place to be.

Money will also be used to support the families, who are not able to work legally, with basic neccessities such as milk, diapers, money for rent as well as to fund education for the children who are unable to go to school.
