The Story

Since 2014, I have worked as a VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Leader, recruiting and mentoring people on the importance of volunteering in their communities. I tooka break from VISTA for the past two years to live in Bangkok. On short notice, I was asked by VISTA to once again be a VISTA Leader for a year in America. My previous work has been in Nebraska and Virginia. My position will start on September 20 2019. While I have the funding to travel to America, I am in need of funding for housing my first month in Iowa. After the first month, I will receive a regular stipend for my work. I am requesting the amount that would cover rent and a rental deposit.

I enjoy volunteering very much. I have also volunteered for projects in Bangkok.My goal after my work is done with VISTA in September 2020 is to return to Thailand to work on creating a volunteer project involving expats who are struggling in Thailand.

The 40000 baht will give me peace of mind to find housing in America after having been away for some time. By having that out the way, I can concentrate on providing the best of my abilities to be the best VISTA Leader possible and being helpful to those who need a hand.
